Send us the form below or call the parish office. There is no need to have a date in mind yet.

Meet the Vicar
A relaxed conversation at the vicarage or by phone, about what baptism means and what you would like.

A preparation evening
Parents and godparents join a short evening with other families, usually on a Wednesday, with tea and cake.

The service
Most baptisms take place within the 10 am Sunday Eucharist. Afternoon services can be arranged for larger families.
Common questions
Before you ask
Do we need to be regular churchgoers?
No. Every family in the parish is welcome to ask for baptism. We will simply ask you to come to a couple of Sunday services beforehand, so that the parish can get to know you.
How many godparents do we need?
Usually three for a child: two of the same sex as the child and one of the other. Godparents should themselves be baptised. We are happy to talk this through.
Is there a fee?
There is no fee for a baptism. Many families make a gift to the parish, but that is entirely up to you.
I am an adult. Can I be baptised?
Yes, and we would be delighted. Adults are usually baptised and confirmed together, after a short course exploring the Christian faith.
