Your first Sunday
From the north door to morning tea
Nobody will single you out or ask you to introduce yourself. This is how a Sunday at the 10 am Sung Eucharist usually runs.
The service begins
The Sung Eucharist, with choir, organ and hymns. Every word you need is printed in the booklet.
Children to Sunday School
After the first reading, children go with their leaders to the hall, and rejoin their families for communion.
Morning tea in the hall
Tea, coffee and something home-baked. Stay ten minutes or an hour; nobody will sign you up for anything.
Weekday services
During the week
Beyond Sunday, the church keeps a simple, steady rhythm of prayer. You are welcome at any of these services, and no one will ask you to do anything you are not comfortable with.

Baptisms
A stone font, candlelight and a welcome for the newest member of the family. Baptisms usually take place within the Sunday Eucharist.
Weddings
A heritage church for up to 180 guests, a pipe organ and a choir if you would like one. We marry couples whether or not they are regular churchgoers.
Funerals
We take funerals in church, at the graveside or at the crematorium, and work closely with your funeral director at a difficult time.
Hall & venue hire
A light, generous hall for your gathering
The parish hall seats 120 at long tables beneath a timber roof, with a full kitchen, step-free access and a garden for summer afternoons. Community groups, family celebrations and wedding receptions are all welcome.

Harvest Festival & Parish Lunch
Parish Hall
A shared lunch after the 10 am Sung Eucharist, with harvest gifts collected for the Hawthorn Vale Food Pantry. Bring a plate if you can; everyone is welcome.
Lunchtime Organ Recital
St Hilda’s Church
Forty minutes of Bach and Howells on the parish organ. Bring your lunch; tea and coffee are served afterwards. Free, with a retiring collection for the organ fund.
Parish Fete
Church grounds & hall
Cake stall, plant stall, second-hand books, a tombola and afternoon tea. Proceeds go to the bell tower restoration.

Finding your way to St Hilda’s
You will find us at the top of Church Lane, behind the old yew trees. The north door is step-free, there is a hearing loop throughout the church, and a welcomer at the door on Sunday mornings will show you where to sit and where to find the children’s corner.
